Provost Message

	Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi, India, is one of the top ranking deemed universities of India whose educational programmes enjoy respect and reputation in India and abroad. In its five decades plus of existence, the University has produced more than 20,000 graduates in different disciplines and over 3,000 post graduates with specialization in engineering, pharmacy, applied sciences, computer applications and management disciplines. The research programmes of the university have also produced a number of Ph.Ds in various disciplines. Currently more than 12,000 students are on its rolls in different undergraduate and postgraduate programmes besides more than 150 students pursuing their doctoral programmes in the areas of Engineering, Science, Pharmacy and Management. the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi, India and is doing its very best to offer high quality education in the Kingdom through excellence oriented student centred education to serve the society as is practiced by its illustrious parent university in India. All the programmes offered at BIT-B are the same programmes as offered in the parent university and are offered under the strict administrative control of the parent university. Faculty members employ innovative methods to make the teaching learning more meaningful and purposeful. Students are guided to work independently and in groups. This would foster team spirit in them which is an essential ingredient of professionalism. Students at the Institute maintain high standards of discipline and enjoy extremely cordial relationship with the faculty members and the administration. All these have contributed to an environment congenial for learning. We at the Institute believe that there are no short-cuts and easier methods in education and therefore, every student has to undergo the rigours of the education programme and only then he or she can think in terms of becoming a competent professional. Over a period of time, BIT-B has become one of the most sought after universities in Bahrain and is attracting students from the neighbouring countries as well. The entire credit goes to the hard work put-in by both the students and faculty members alike in tandem, to make ‘excellence a habit’ in their lives. To achieve excellence one must have positive attitude towards education and life. This is all about what we have been striving for.
