Are the students required to complete the entire course in Bahrain ? Is there any tie-up with any of the foreign universities?

The duration of the Engineering Degree (BE) program is 4 years. Students will be required to study the first two years at BITIC, Bahrain and the last two years in one of the BIT extension centers in India with prevalent fee as is applicable in India . The choice of the center is based on the availability of seat in a particular centre.

BIT has a tie-up with the Leeds University of UK. According to this arrangement, students will have an option to continue the last two years of their studies in selected branches of engineering degree program at Leeds University subject to fulfilling all the requirements. On successful completion of the course he/she will be eligible for the award of M. Eng. Degree from the Leeds University and BE degree from BIT, Mesra, Ranchi . Fee at prevalent rates, will be applicable in University of Leeds at that point of time.

The duration of MBA and BBA programs are 2 years and 3 years respectively. The students will be required to complete the entire course at BITIC, Bahrain . Similarly the students of the Diploma in Technology program and B.Sc. (IT) will also be required to complete the entire program at BITIC, Bahrain .

 

Do western universities accept academic credits offered by BITIC?

The universities in the west accept the academic credits awarded by Indian universities after scrutiny on case-to-case basis. There are a good number of instances wherein highly reputed American Universities and universities in the UK have granted 100% academic credit acceptance to the students of BIT / BITIC in the recent past.

 

Does BITIC accept academic credits offered by Western Universities?

The criteria for credit acceptance by BITIC is same as is followed by Western Universities. This is subject to matching of course curriculum favourably with what is being offered at BIT / BITIC. This is considered on case-to-case basis and the decision of the equivalence committee constituted for the purpose shall be final. Generally it takes about 4-6 weeks to get a final decision on the subject.

 

Does BITIC extend visa assistance to students ?

The Institute extends visa assistance to candidates from abroad seeking admission in the centre subject to the rules and regulations prevalent at that time in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Those desirous of availing the visa assistance should notify their intention well in advance (preferably 2 months) so that there will be enough time before commencement of the classes.

 

What kind of accommodation assistance will be provided to outstation students?

The Institute arranges furnished accommodation by hiring flat/s on rent for the outstation students, on shared basis. A minimum group size may be required to make the arrangement economically viable. Further details can be had from the Admission office of the Institute.

 

Will transportation be provided to the students to travel to the Institute?

The Institute arranges transport services on standard routes for the students on shared basis. A minimum group size of students may be required to make the arrangement economically viable. The transport fee is to be borne by the student

 

Are the courses studied in BITIC Bahrain and BIT, Mesra, Ranchi the same?

Yes. All the courses offered in each branch of engineering degree are the same as is being offered in the parent university. The parent university controls all the activities of BITIC. The degree will be awarded by Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi.

 

Does BITIC offer Executive MBA programs for the working professionals ?

Yes. The duration of the program is 6trimesters spread over a period of 2years. Under this program the working professionals will be required to attend classes at 14 hours per week in the evenings and will be required to take regular examinations conducted by the university at the end of every trimester.
