General Information to Candidates applying for Admission

  • Admission to MBA, BE, BBA, BCom(E-Com), B. Sc., (IT) and Diploma in Technology courses conducted by the centre are subject to the candidate satisfying the minimum requirement for the respective branch/ discipline as stipulated by the parent university - the Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, Ranchi, India. However satisfying the minimum requirements will not guarantee admission
  • Candidates selected for admission must submit the following original documents along with the prescribed fee:
    1. Pass certificate of 10 th standard / O level examination.
    2. Pass certificate of 12 th standard / A level examination.
    3. Degree certificate for admission to MBA
    4. Character certificate issued by the Head of the institution last attended.
    5. Migration Certificate.
    6. Two recent passport size photographs.
    7. Photocopy of Passport and C.P.R. (if applicable)
    8. Application Processing Fee of BD 25/- (if not already paid).
    9. First Semester/Trimester Tuition Fee: BD 1200/- for BE programmes, BD 500/- for BBA, BCom(E-Com) & BSc(IT) programmes, BD 750/- for the Diploma in Technology programmes and BD 500/- per trimester for the MBA programme
    10. Refundable Caution Deposit as applicable: BD 300/- for BE programmes and BD 100/- for all other programmes
  • The student, except studying in the BE programme, will study the entire course at the Birla Institute of Technology International Centre (BITIC), Bahrain and it should be noted that no request for transfer of a student to the parent university will be entertained.
  • The students of BITIC will abide by the rules and regulations of the centre.
  • The students will strictly follow the code of conduct in the lecture halls, laboratories, library, seminar hall etc. Their behaviour in the centre and outside the centre will be such as not to bring bad name to the institute. The Institute reserves the right to cancel admission of a candidate indulging in activities attributable to disturbance of academic activities in the Institute.
  • The payment of the prescribed fees for different programmes should be deposited on or before the registration day of every semester / trimester failing which a fine of BD.1 per day for first seven days will be levied. A fine of BD 25/- will be levied for failure to deposit the fee during the grace period of seven days. The candidate’s name will be struck off from the rolls if he / she fails to deposit the fee within 3 weeks after the commencement of the semester / trimester. The fee particulars are as follows:

Fee may be deposited in cash at the Institute office during the working hours on all working days or through a crossed demand draft drawn in favour of Jalal-BIT W.L.L. payable at HSBC Bank, Manama branch, Bahrain.

Generally the working hours of the Institute is as follows:

    1. 1 st September to 30 th June – Saturday through Wednesday from 8.00 AM to 4.00PM with a break between 12.30PM & 1.20PM and from 8.00AM to 12.30 PM on all Thursdays
    2. 1 st July to 31 st August – Saturday through Wednesday from 8.00AM to 2.00PM without any break and from 8.00AM to 12.30 Noon on all Thursdays
  • Promotion and admission to the next higher class is subject to the academic and examination regulations of the parent university. A summer semester is organized for the benefit of candidates having backlog papers and the student will be required to carry out the academic activities during the summer.
  • Candidates admitted to 4-year BE degree will be required to study two year at BITIC, Bahrain and the other two years at one of the Extension Centres in India or at any one of the International Centres at Ras Al Khaima (UAE) or Muscat (Oman) of the parent university. The admission is subject to the conditions laid down by the parent university at that point of time. However the transfer is not automatic. The student will have to achieve minimum of grade points of 7 in each semester and must pass the examinations in the first attempt or as stipulated by the university. The fee payable for the last 2 years of study at BIT or one of its Extension Centres or International Centres would be at prevalent rates as is applicable in India or at the International Centres at the time of transfer. The decision of the Institute in respect of transfer will be final and binding.
  • The Institute arranges transport services for the students on shared basis. A minimum group size of students may be required to make the arrangement economically viable. Fees for such an arrangement for the entire semester will have to be paid in advance along with the semester / trimester fee at the beginning of the semester / trimester. Students coming from remote areas not covered by normal routes arranged by the Institute will have to make their own arrangements for the transport.
  • The Institute arranges furnished accommodation by hiring flat/s on rent for the outstation students, on shared basis. Additional expenses related with the flat such as Water & Electricity Charges, House tax, Cleanliness of the premises etc. will be in addition to the rent of the flat is to be shared by the inmates. A minimum group size may be required to make the arrangement economically viable. Fees for such an arrangements for the entire semester will have to be paid in advance along with the semester / trimester fee at the beginning of the semester / trimester. As the flat owners generally insist upon minimum one year of occupation, and due to difficulties to get a flat in a convenient place the flat will have to be retained during the vacation period as well. It is, therefore, the inmates must note that they need to pay for the rent of the premises during the vacation period as well. Those who intend to discontinue the shared accommodation facility must inform in writing atleast one semester in advance failing which they will be required to pay the accommodation fee for the entire forthcoming semester as well. The remaining inmates will have to bear the burden / get the benefit as a result of some inmate vacating / entering the shared accommodation respectively for the rest of the period. The inmates will abide by the rules and regulations laid down by the Institute for such a facility in order to make every in-mate’s stay a memorable one. They will be solely responsible for their own safety and security. They will also be responsible for the safety of the furniture and fixtures. They will report any loss or damage caused to the property to the Professor in-charge immediately. The Institute reserves the right to order an inmate to vacate the accommodation, if found indulging in such activities which may cause disturbance / nuisance to the other in-mates / neighbours.
  • The Institute extends visa assistance to candidates from abroad seeking admission in the centre subject to the rules and regulations prevalent at that time in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Those desirous of availing the visa assistance should notify their intention well in advance (preferably 2 months) so that there will be enough time before commencement of the classes. Such candidates are required to provide a photocopy of all relevant pages of his / her passport, a photocopy of the admission letter, a photocopy of the qualifying marks card / academic transcript and 4 passport size photographs. All the expenditure involved is to be borne by the student.
  • Extract of the Academic regulations, Academic calendar, Time table etc. will be provided on the Registration day.
  • All the above conditions are subject to change at the discretion of the university or as per rules prevalent at that point of time. Such changes are binding on all the students.
