Besides higher level educational programs, the institute has also evolved industry oriented practical training programs and management development programs for the benefit of the sponsored technicians and managers from the industry / individuals respectively to upgrade their skills to find suitable employment in the industry. In the technical manpower spectrum, a technician is a technical employee (irrespective of his designation) who occupies a middle level position between the craftsman and the technologist but lower than that of a skilled worker. Skill in techniques based on the knowledge of principles, sufficient to judge the most appropriate technique to adopt the work when necessary. The main objective of the technician education programs of universities and polytechnics is to give the technician student a sound broad-based knowledge of a chosen field. The curriculum in Theory and Practice must be balanced and blended. As the saying goes ‘Theory without practice is un-understandable, while Practice without theory is un-digestible’. The education needs to be supplemented with actual practical experience in industry or business ans commerce. In this context BITIC has drawn up an integrated program of technician education and training spanning from 1-3 years to make the trained technician suitable to meet the immediate demands of the industry. Infrastructure facilities at BITIC The institute has the necessary infrastructural facilities manned by highly qualified and experienced staff. Brief description of the relevant facilities available at the Institute is given below.
